Good Food and Fine Wine – At NottiesThe first of what is set to become an annual event in the
Midlands was enjoyed on the 6th of September. The
Nottingham Road Wine and Food Festival, held at the
Nottingham Road Hotel this week in conjunction with the
Stables wine estate, organized by Notting Road Tourism, was
a delicious success. Supported by a wide variety of
products, all local, the festival provided an opportunity
for networking, for discovering just what was available,
for tasting and testing, for buying and ordering – all KZN
Home-grown delicacies.
As a small sample of the goods on offer, there was a
delicious camembert cheese by Indezi Cheeses (033 267
7923), the tastiest orange, thyme and marjoram olives (033
263 2535), enormous, sweet strawberries from Nottsvale
Fresh Produce (033 263 1782), not to mention homemade,
fresh pasta, enormous smoked chickens, tender ham, Italian
bread – all complemented by the stunning local wines from
the Stables wine estate. That chardonnay really was
wonderful!
To end off any dinner party, try the wicked Belgian
chocolates from the Porterble Pantry – they also do
catering – and real ice cream from Ballina at the Mad About
Cows Ice Cream Parlour.
People visiting KZN, and the Midlands area in particular,
are always keen to try the local foods, beverages and other
delicacies, and KZN is proud to be able to boast of so many
wonderful local products. Contact these exhibitors to
locate the goods, and support the local producers at the
same time.
