FOCUS ON SMALL BUSINESS AT INDABATHE Department of Trade and Industry will be promoting
small businesses in the tourism industry at this year’s
Indaba, reports Darren Sandras of Travel News Now.
The dti desk will provide information and guidance on the
dti services to the tourism sector. Other services at the
stand will enable entrepreneurs to track progress on their
grant applications and visitors to the stand will also be
able to register companies, trademarks and copyrights.
Several of the dti’s agencies will be attending the show,
with the aim of providing a comprehensive contact point for
various businesses in the industry to access the services
available. The various agencies attending include: Small
Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), Khula Enterprise,
National Empowerment Fund (NEF), South African Women
Empowerment Network (SAWEN), Technology for Women in
Business (TWIB), South Africa Micro-finance Apex Fund
(SAMAF), Companies and Intellectual Property Registration
(CIPRO), the Enterprise Organisation’s Small and Medium
Enterprise Development Programme (SMEDP) and the Black
Business Suppliers Development Programme (BBSDP). The dti
stand number is DEC 815.
