FOCUS ON SMALL BUSINESS AT INDABA

THE Department of Trade and Industry will be promoting small businesses in the tourism industry at this year’s Indaba, reports Darren Sandras of Travel News Now.

The dti desk will provide information and guidance on the dti services to the tourism sector. Other services at the stand will enable entrepreneurs to track progress on their grant applications and visitors to the stand will also be able to register companies, trademarks and copyrights.

Several of the dti’s agencies will be attending the show, with the aim of providing a comprehensive contact point for various businesses in the industry to access the services available. The various agencies attending include: Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), Khula Enterprise, National Empowerment Fund (NEF), South African Women Empowerment Network (SAWEN), Technology for Women in Business (TWIB), South Africa Micro-finance Apex Fund (SAMAF), Companies and Intellectual Property Registration (CIPRO), the Enterprise Organisation’s Small and Medium Enterprise Development Programme (SMEDP) and the Black Business Suppliers Development Programme (BBSDP). The dti stand number is DEC 815.
