Tourism KwaZulu-Natal Brochures

Below is a list of brochures currently available free of charge, on a one-person-one-sample basis, from our information office on the ground floor of Tourist Junction, 160 Pine Street, Durban, or from our desks at the V&A Waterfront - Cape Town, uShaka Marine World in Durban, Mount Currie Inn - Kokstad, Sandton City and at Durban International Airport. They are also available in our brochure racks at the Golela Border Post, Montrose and Piet Retief.

For larger stock quantities, please complete the brochure order form in full, allowing suitable time for the processing of requests.

Please Note:

  • Ordering is only authorised for registered tourism related services.
  • Limited stock is produced of all the items below and are therefore not meant for bulk supply or mass distribution. Ideally stock is to be distributed mainly at consumer and trade shows and at trade workshops both nationally and internationally. Stock is also to be distributed through the offices of SA Tourism, SA Embassies and our trade representatives abroad, as well as through CTOs, publicity associations, tour operators and other provincial tourism agents.
  • All requests are to be made in writing to the Distribution Co-ordinator.

Lead times required:

  • International Requests: 2 months (20 working days)
  • National Requests: 2 weeks (10 working days)
  • Local Requests: 1 week (5 working days)

Travel & Tourism Guide

This is the official tourism guide of the Zulu Kingdom. It comprehensively covers all regions within the province, highlighting their main attractions and the uniqueness of each destination. A provincial map is included.

A4, 48 page brochure – 35 000 copies produced annually.

Due to the size and cost of developing this guide, limited quantities have been produced, mainly for international, tourism-focused target markets.

A CD version of the Travel Guide is also available.
Some 5 000 copies of these are produced on an annual basis.

Provincial Tourist Map

This is a Braby's tourist map of the Zulu Kingdom and includes private enterprise advertising, useful tourism-related contact details and information on the province.

A1 folded to DL format – 100 000 produced annually (35 000 inserted into the travel Guides and 65 000 loose).

Due to relatively small quantities for free distribution (70 000), requests are considered carefully.

Kingdom of Adventure Guide

This is a brochure covering each of the tourism regions of the Zulu Kingdom, with maps of what is found - and where - in each region. Also highlighted are the adventure activities and opportunities in the Zulu Kingdom - in the air on land and inthe water. There is a list of fully registered and qualified adventure tourism service providers and for each one, a description of the operation, contact details, information as to where the operate, and the price one can expect to pay. DL, 44 - page– 20 000 copies produced annually.

These are aimed specifically at the tourist and distribution is intended primarily through TKZN tourism partners.

Accommodation Guide

This guide covers specific accommodation categories providing a brief introduction of, and orientation map for, each of the eight regions/destinations within the Zulu Kingdom and advertising of a few registered accommodation establishments with full listings of all relevant service providers at the back of each brochure.

DL 80-page brochure, 30 000 copies produced annually. This guide is specifically aimed at the tourist and distribution, primarily through TKZN tourism partners.
















Note: All provincial brochures are intended to spur interest with generic descriptions and information, with more detailed information provided through regional brochures. Provincial brochures are thus by no means inclusive of all information required to book a complete Zulu Kingdom holiday. They should be seen as teasers to support regional brochures.

What Where and When

The What Where and When (WWW) brochure, in magazine format, is produced to promote the core events in each of the eight KZN tourism regions or destinations.

It is produced as an A4 format, 32 page brochure, with 40 000 copies every 2 months throughout the year. A total of 240 000 are produced annually.
