TOURISM KWAZULU-NATAL MARKETING OPPORTUNITIES: PART 1REGISTRATION
To take advantage of the opportunities outlined in the
following document, product owners and stakeholders need
to register
their businesses formally with TKZN. A nominal fee of R150
per registered tourism service is charged on an annual
basis and which includes one web page for the
product/service
generated and hosted by TKZN, listings of product details
in our various brochures and automatic inclusion into our
database.
TKZN's database of provincial service providers is
regarded
as the most comprehensive of its kind in the country. It
is
an inventory of all tourism-related facilities and
comprises 17 categories, which range from accommodation
establishments, conference venues, entertainment venues
and
restaurants to historical, religious, cultural, botanical
and conservation areas. The database forms the backbone of
our tourism research, communication, marketing and
information dissemination in the Zulu Kingdom.
In this regard, the registration system provides a means
through which TKZN can effectively maintain the accuracy
of
the database and encourage industry adherence to good
business practice. During 2004, registration became
mandatory for certain tourism
service providers - this process is supported by
provincial
legislation, which was promulgated during the course
of
2004.
Once you have registered you are permitted to use TKZN's
special logo for registered tourism establishments.
