'The view was so breath taking; I had to be convinced to come back to Johannesburg. All you see is just mountains and more mountains. The tranquility that comes with the Drakensberg is indescribable.'This was Metro FM Sindie Mnguni’s experience in the Zulu Kingdom where she was hosted as part of a national campaign aimed at creating tourism awareness amongst South Africans.

Ukhozi FM DJ Lucky Sefatsa, who stayed at the magnificent Itala Game Reserve in Zululand, said: 'The highlight of our trip was a visit to Mhlangeni bush camp. This changed my attitude towards traveling and tourism and animals in general.

I must say we are considering going back soon and stay there for about a week .I actually promised to mobilise my friends and colleagues at work to visit Itala Game Reserve soon.

This year we are planning to have our wedding in a unique place, and we are thinking about Itala Game Reserve.

Throughout my breakfast show I never stop talking about my trip to nature.'

Last year, South African Tourism announced its Domestic Growth Strategy and implemented the Sho’t Left Campaign which aims to grow domestic tourism in the country by showcasing all the provinces as viable holiday destinations. It also aims to develop a culture of holiday travel amongst South Africans and to dispel the misconception that holiday is not affordable or inaccessible to the average South African.

The basis of the campaign is to encourage people to take more holidays more often. To this end, the Zulu Kingdom, which for several years has been the leading domestic destination of choice in the country, is supporting this campaign by encouraging tourism service providers to offer discounted packages to the Zulu Kingdom.

In addition we are also hosting a number of national DJs to sample the beauty of our province so that they will be able to share this tourism experience with their listeners.

We invite you to experience your own magical stay in the Zulu Kingdom by simply clicking on one of the several packages available… or by contacting us
