South Africa's province of KwaZulu-Natal offers a wealth of experiences in its variety of museums - approximately 50 - throughout the province. Durban alone is host to fifteen museums offering anything from local history to geology, from beads to biology, maritime magic to dinosaur displays. Spend a few hours in the Natural Science Museum, or the Kwa Muhle museums.

Further afield, the Midlands area provides 15 museums outlining the complex, fascinating history of battles lost and won, even of long distance runners and railways. Museums in KZN are not simply collections of curiosities but places to be entertained and amazed, sometimes to relive a bygone era, to lose one’s self while expanding the limits of what one knows of what came before as well as what might be in the future.
